Question:
I am interested in purchasing a steel building kit for my farm
shop,probably around a 30 by 60 . Any ideas or comments
concerning various companies or models would be greatly
appreciated.My alternative would be to build a pole building
and use rough lumber to side it.
Answer:
I put up a 30 by 70 steel building in my backyard which I purchased
from Wedgcor. It has a 5/12 pitch on the roof, is insulated, has two
garage doors and two walk through doors. It is very nice and I have
been very happy with it. All of the holes lined up and everything
bolted together without a problem. I live within the city limits of Los
Angeles and Wedgcor was one of the few companys willing to put up
with LA building code requirements. The building kit cost roughly
$16K including the doors and insulation. The concrete work cost about
that much again.
