Question:
I need new garage doors for my house and a local comapny sells the Raynor
2" steel insulated door. I am looking for a door with alot of insulation and weather
seal ability. These metal doors come with a "as long you you own the house"
waranty. They are very expensive, I was quoted $785 for a 6.5x8' door with
windows.
Are these doors any good or are there other brands less expensive? Should i buy
Raynor garage doors? What should I be looking for when buying a garage door?
Answer:
I bought a Raynor double steel insulated door (16' x 7') with windows
installed for $1180. Trying to buy the equivalent Clopay from the home
centers for me to DIY would have cost as much. Watching the crew install
it made me glad I didn't. Anyway, Raynor got a bad rap a few years ago
when they changed their galvanizing process. They replaced a lot of doors
and have since improved their door, what the salesguy told me ;-) I liked
the look of the door, the guarantee and the insulation value. The door is
well sealed and was well worth the cost.
