Modine garage heater install

Question:
I'm looking to install a ceiling hung Modine heater in my garage and have a couple questions:

Flue exit
[While it would be very easy to exit the side of the garage right at the heater I don't believe this is a recommended option - if it is,
I'd love to choose it]
I'd prefer to have the exhaust piping exit through the side of the garage (just under the roof peak) and then have it extend up above the roof peak instead of through the roof itself. Side exit pro's:
Easier to cut hole; less chance of water leakage. Roof exit pro's: perhaps a more sturdy installation. Roof overhang is about 12 inches.
Recommendations?

Flue height:
Either way I believe I'll have to extend above the roof line some amount - anyone know the correct amount?

Pipe sizing:
Nat gas line will need to be run. Currently the line comes into the house in the FAR corner from this heater. The first tee is for the dryer, the second tee is for the furnace/water heater with the last item the kitchen stove. I'll extend from the kitchen stove out to the garage. The incoming line is ~1" OD. It necks down 1/2 way between the kit stove and furnace/H2O heater to ~3/4" OD piping. This Modine heater is 84000 BTU's. Should I continue on with the 3/4" OD pipe or with the 1" OD pipe. If 1", I'll have to replace back to where the
3/4"-1" junction is (not a problem). Run lengths from the 3/4-1" junction: junction to stove tee - 11Ft, stove tee to heater - ~42Ft.

Answer:
I used a power venter for my garage heater. Works fine and allowed me to vent through the wall. Another option to look at.
