Question:
Does anyone know where I can buy a threshold for my garage door? What I
have in mind is a piece of rubber that you glue to the floor that has a
cross-section vaguely resembling the picture below. The point of such a
gadget is that it keeps water out of the garage (my driveway doesn't slope
away from the house as much as it should so some water gets in during a
heavy downpour).
Answer:
In my neck of the woods there is a place called "Overhead Door" which
specializes in garage doors and openers (no kidding). I think this is
a nationwide franchise. Anyways, I have called them for things of type.
Look in the phone book for garage door installers. They should carry
or know where to get this item.
We installed one of these under a commercial garage door that got about a
dozen vehicles though it a day. It was glued to an asphalt floor. After
about two weeks, it was removed because it did not stay fixed. We have not
yet found a good solution, although we are not exactly looking very hard.
It was shaped more like. The strip is just nailed to the outside of the door using galvanized
roofing nails. It lies flats against the ground and presses against
it when the door is closed.
